Program areas at Center for Black Equity

COVID-19 grant during the calendar year of 2021. The purpose was to inform the African American LGBTQ+ community of the danger of COVID-19 prevention and support information and finally COVID-19 care options including vaccine availability around the United States. This information was disseminated via social media outlets and 40 Black LGBTQ+ organizers.
The Ron Simmons Leadership Institute RSLI was a pilot initiative of The Center for Black Equity. Focusing on the pillars of Social economic and health equity the RSLI was designed to engage and empower leaders across the country who organize Pride events that serve the Black LGBTQ+ community. The RSLI took place in a virtual setting engaging the participants across twelve sessions throughout 2021 providing tools knowledge and trainings that will empower those in positions of leadership to meet the needs of their respecttive communities across the United States.
