Program areas at Center for Child Protection
Crisis intervention programs: the mission of the Center for Child Protection is to lessen the emotional trauma of abused children during the investigation and prosecution of cases and to improve the system response to Child abuse by uniting the efforts of public agencies and enlisting community support. The Center provides a home-like, Child centered environment where children who have reported abuse or witnessed a violent crime and their protective caregivers can go for evaluation, crisis intervention, evidence gathering and counseling. The Center is a member of the Child Protection team, a collaboration of the austin police department, aisd police department, bee cave police department, village of briarcliff police department, cedar park police department, dell children's health, elgin police department, jonestown police department, lago vista police department, lakeway police department, leander police department, manor police department, mustang ridge police department, city of pflugerville police department, pflugerville isd police department, rollingwood police department, sunset valley police department, Texas department of family & protective services Child protective services, department of family protective services adult protective services, department of family protective services Child care licensing, travis county district attorney's office, travis county sheriff's office, university of Texas police department, and west lake hills police department. In 2022, the Center provided services to approximately 2,888 children and adults. Services include forensic interviews, forensic medical exams, follow-up of case progress in the criminal justice system, counseling services, psycho-therapeutic groups and court education for children who will testify in a criminal case.
