Program areas at Center for Excellence in Education
Research science institute at MIT, 100 high school students from the us and abroad yielded winners in national math and science competitions and assisted students in gaining admission to top tier universities. In-kind donations of room and board, facilities and other related expenses to house staff and students were provided by MIT.
The Teacher Enrichment Program is a three-component professional development program available to rural and urban middle and high school teachers to strengthen their STEM professional development. TEP is available cost-free to teachers located in California, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
After two rounds of the USA Biolympiad (USABO) competition, the 20 top scholars were selected from over 11,000 participants; these scholars were trained for two-weeks in person where the top four scholars were identified as the USA Biolympiad team. The team competeed in the international biology Olympiad in United Arab Emirates.
