Program areas at CHOICE

NTEE Code Q30: Education and Health Programs increase the understanding, value and purpose of literacy and employing simple health tactics that avoid easily preventable diseases. Our goal is to ensure that remote villages have access to the critical services needed to move out of extreme poverty. Projects in this area include but are not limited to: School Construction, Adult Literacy, Trade Schools, Scholarships, Health Posts and Hospitals, Nutrition, Dental Clinics, Water Systems, and Latrines that create defecation free zones.
NTEE Code C02: Environmental Programs ensure human habitat is a priority in land resource management. Land, Air and Water are key components to our environmental resource program, which is also vital to the survival of agricultural communities. Technical Assistance is provided for the projects communities deem as a priority. Projects in this area include but are not limited to: Reforestation, Environmentally Friendly Stoves, Latrines and Bio Gas Bigesters (specialized latrines converting human waste to methane gas), Family Gardens, Composting, Crop Rotation, and the use of specific land repairing crops like Tarwi.
NTEE Code S32: Economic Development is the overall exit strategy to our mission and ensures that families can earn an income and ultimately lift themselves out of extreme poverty. We accomplish this goal by teaching the concept of savings and identifying economic development initiatives in emerging markets. We provide the expertise to link entrepreneurs to these market opportunities which create successful businesses and strengthen the local economies. Projects in this area include but are not limited to: Community "Savings Box" Programs, Solar Farms, Aquaponics, Essential Oils Productions, Food Production, Artisans and others.
