Program areas at Center for Mind-Body Medicine

Global trauma relief is The cmbm's groundbreaking program to address population-wide psychological trauma. It trains critical masses of health and mental health professionals and community leaders so that they can heal psychological trauma and stress in areas devastated by war, poverty, violence, and natural disasters. Our published research has repeatedly demonstrated decreases in post-traumatic stress disorder of 80% or more. Cmbm has developed large-scale programs in kosovo, macedonia, israel, gaza, haiti, ukraine, with syrian refugees in jordan, and in The united states with nyc firefighters post 9/11, in post-katrina new orleans, with native americans in The midwest, with active duty military, veterans, and their families, with staff and incarcerated men and women in The Indiana correctional facilities, and with staff, students and community leaders in broward county, fl after The mass shooting in 2018. Toward The end of 2020 and beginning of 2021, cmbm began a well-funded, major program for trauma relief in post-hurricane harvey houston. At The same time, cmbm began to explore major funding for similar programs in hurricane-affected puerto rico and in sonoma county, ca following The massive fires. Both of these programs have subsequently been funded.
Institutional partnership-are initiated to work with institutions to make systemic change in improving The training of healthcare professionals, educators, community leaders, so they can improve their own health and well being and better serve their patients, students, and constituents. Our institutional partnership program combines elements of our signature Mind-Body Medicine curricula to create a comprehensive training in self-care, stress reduction, Mind-Body Medicine, nutrition, exercise, and group support that is tailored to The needs of The specific institution.
Mind-Body Medicine professional training, The most comprehensive mindbody training program in The united states. It combines large group didactic training with our unique, smallgroup model, making it possible for healthcare professionals to integrate The best of mindbody Medicine into clinical practice and teaching. This is The Center's core program.wei have been teaching it around The world since 1994, providing over 7,000 practitioners with The tools they need to become more effective healers and to find more meaning in their work. Both experiential and evidencedbased, this program is rewarding and transformative. The advanced professional training in mindbody teaches practitioners how to teach Mind-Body skills groups for others and understand how to integrate The cmbm model into their professional practice and community work. The Mind-Body Medicine certification program prepares practitioners to lead Mind-Body skills groups with diverse communities, integrate Mind-Body Medicine into institutions, and develop unique applications for clinical practice and educational programs.
