Program areas at Center for the Integration and Advancement of New Americans Ciana
This two (2) year grant from April 2022 to March 2024 from the NYS Department of State (DOS) Equity Fund will provide programming for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) and Middle Eastern / North African (MENA) communities including case management direct services (public benefits, housing, cash assistance, healthcare access, and , information and referrals, community outreach, immigration legal, adult education (ESOL and Civics), and youth education for elementary and middle-school aged children. mental health support youth programs, and other culturally competent services.
In September 2020, CIANA was awarded a NYC Health + Hospitals NYC Care grant. The grant has been extended through April 2024. The grant was to educate and assist community members to enroll in the newly expanded healthcare program into Queens. Designed for all NYC residents who could not otherwise afford or have access to medical care. During this time period, CIANA has engaged with over 30,000 community members and enrolled almost 750 community members in NYC Care.
In July 2016, CIANA was awarded a grant from ActionNYC Legal Fellowship / Immigrant Justice Corps. Since then, the grant has been extended each fiscal year and is intended to enhance our Immigration Legal Services program. With this grant, we were able to provide 325 unique clients with legal services and submit various applications to USCIS, including DACA renewals, naturalizations, adjustment of status and petition for an alien relative, among many other services.
