Program areas at Central Florida Disaster Services

Developed a radiation surge annex and updated all regional plans. Purchased decontamination and ppe equipment for new hospitals and replaced expiring equipment at other hospitals. Purchased a cache of evacuation eqipment. Exercises include a tornado drill, a generator drill, and active shooter drill, and a hurricane drill. Facilitated the regional medical surge full scale exercise, including more than 50 hospitals across the region. Training provided includes hospital incident command system, continuity of operations planning, comprehensive emergency management, mental health first aid, stress first aid, nursing home infection prevention, and weather awareness. Medical equipment and supplies are maintained in response readiness for response missions to support community events, including first aid stations at the disney marthons and sanford air shows.
