Program areas at Central Stage Theatre of County Kitsap
Summer camp workshops: four workshops were held from june to august 2023, benefiting over 100 youth ages 4 to 18. These workshops required the help of production staff and volunteers. Each workshop offered students an opportunity to learn, create and grow - not just in Theatre, but also in visual arts, writing, public speaking, and teamwork. Curriculum integrates hands-on learning experiences in set design and construction, lighting and sound science, theater management, marketing, and related technical fields. Workshops also offered college students an earned income, to cultivate a new generation of leadership in the performing arts. This program also offered scholarships in the form of discounts to participants who requested financial aid.
Main Stage shows: one musical Theatre production was planned then cancelled in 2023 due to challenges finding a performance venue.
Theatre academy workshops: one after-school program for Central Kitsap school district students, benefitting 40 students, as well as production staff and volunteers. This after-school program offers performing arts opportunities for local students during the school year, overcoming transportation and cost barriers.
Capital campaign: design for a new community Theatre with circuit of the northwest and port of bremerton continued at our new location in bremerton, wa, throughout 2023. Revenue from community campaign and major gifts was only $300, leaving us with negative income for this project/program for the 2023 operating year due to program overhead expenses.
