Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos

Centro museum and ballet folklorico - the ofelia t. vasquez mexican-american culture museum is open and free to the public to provide opportunities for hispanic Cultural history and appreciation. Museum exhibits are offered for viewing and supplemented by rotating art exhibits. The ballet folklorico program assists participants in reading music and playing songs through traditional mariachi and ballet folklorico, while fostering and improving self-confidence and presentation skills.

Art space and summer programs - Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos' very popular summer camps and art space programs have fully resumed post-pandemic. Summer camp and art space activities include art classes, makers camp, computer coding, camp ole, and a number of other engaging and educational courses and activities. Skilled instructors are proved along with associated supplies and refreshments. Each camp lasts one week with seven sessions scheduled during the summer school recess period.

In-person piano instruction - in-person piano lessons have been resumed post-pandemic and offered to children and adults with a focus on low-income individuals and families. Instruction is provided by experienced piano instructors and emphasizes piano technique and reading sheet music. The instruction also serves to build self-confidence and polish presentation skills.

Mariachi program and other program services include dia de los muertos activities, girls like us mental development, back to school haircuts, chess classes, and craft workshops.
