Program areas at Centro Romero
Legal services:the legal services program served 5,433 clients with immigration and naturalization issues. These client numbers include 73 adults who completed applications for citizenship, 63 clients that became lawful permanent residents (lprs), and 66 clients who were naturalized. We processed 732 renewal applications for the daca program (deferred action for childhood arrivals) and filed 378 tps renewals (temporary protected status).
The adult education programserved 853 students. These include 395 adults instructed in english as a second language (esl) and 35 in general educational development (ged). A total of 121 adults attended citizenship test preparation classes, 11 received vocational training for healthcare careers, and 47 young children and parents participated in family literacy. A total of 132 students received one-on-one tutoring from trained volunteers. Forty adults received job-readiness training and seven students learned to read and write in spanish. Sixty-five adults received computer skills training and another 33 students became proficient in basic computer skills.
Public benefits program:a total of 3,003 family members benefited from accessing public benefits programs.
