Program areas at CVOEO
Cvoeo provided a wide variety of vital services to over 21,000 people and well over 11,000 families during the year. Additionally, thousands of volunteer hours were donated to cvoeo programs and agency programs engaged in over 500 partnerships with outside entities (businesses, non-profits, faith-based organizations, school districts, post-secondary institutions, etc.). Three community action offices in middlebury, burlington and st. albans provided crisis intervention in several areas including crisis fuel, warmth support, housing financial assistance, housing services coordination, food assistance and tax assistance. Northwest family foods served 2,914 individuals and 1,438 households and distributed 295,622 pounds of food. At the addison county food shelf, we served 1,047 individuals and 499 households providing 15,675 pounds of food. At feeding chittenden, we served 8,137 individuals, 4,310 households and distributed 2,000,000 pounds of food while serving 25,237 meals at the community resource center.
The Champlain Valley weatherization service (cvws) performed comprehensive energy efficiency work including insulation, air sealing, and furnace repair while also reducing lead, radon, carbon dioxide and fire hazards and electrical issues. One hundred and twenty-seven households were weatherized, and 215.81 gallons of oil were saved per household on average. Weatherization also repaired and replaced dozens of furnaces and removed vermiculite from over 10 homes. Through the one touch program our teams referred people to other community resources and cvoeo programs.
