Nonprofit servicesat Charities Review Council, we partner with nonprofit organizations to help them build and communicate their internal strength. Research shows that americans' distrust in institutions is growing. Nonprofits rely upon the Council's tools and resources to demonstrate their strength, transparency, and accountability as they strive to meet the ever-changing and often urgent needs of our communities.we served more than 600 nonprofits in 2023 - including five organizations new to the Council's services - using the accountability wizard, the accountability standards, the diversity, equity & inclusion toolkit, and the meets standards seal. 51% of organizations self-identified a need for changes through our assessment tool before receiving the Council's Review results, and 80% of organizations were able to make positive changes to strengthen their organization's governance practices and policies. We engage nonprofits that bolster a healthy, thriving community through the arts, social services, education, and more. They address the most pressing issues in our communities including food insecurity, homelessness, and racial equity.
Donor servicesat Charities Review Council, we help donors assess the internal strength of the organizations they care about as a starting place for engagement and conversation. We share smart giving information with donors and foundations via our semiannual smart giver newsletter. We also connects individually with donors, responding to support calls and emails. When donors ask about nonprofits they are considering supporting, we can quickly share information to round out their understanding. In this way, we can equip donors with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their giving. In 2023, we shared smart giving information and a list of the current meets standards organizations with more than 6,700 donors, businesses, and foundations via our semiannual print newsletter. We also provided resources to a broad reach of constituents through our blog, monthly e-newsletter, social media, and website, with 15,000 new web visitors. When donors are confident in supporting strong, trustworthy nonprofits, they can partner in authentic ways that advance the greater good
Donor-nonprofit relationsat Charities Review Council, we work with donors and nonprofits to develop strong, authentic, and meaningful donor-nonprofit relationships. Through our list of reviewed nonprofits and featured nonprofit spotlights, organizations gain visibility with donors that look to our meets standards list to guide their charitable giving. Donors are introduced to nonprofits that may not otherwise have been on their radar. When concerns and questions arise in the community about charitable organizations or charitable giving, stemming from media reports or developments through the Minnesota attorney general's office, the Council responds through interviews and communication channels to provide insight and resources to promote healthy philanthropy.
