Program areas at Charlotte CPCU Society Chapter
Throughout the year, the Chapter organizes a number of events designed to provide a platform for team-building, networking, and engaging our members and young generations. Some of the annual events include: CPCU Shadow Day, Golf Tournament including a Mini-Golf Tournament this year, Knights game outing, and CPCU year-end annual meeting. While the Chapter strives to raise revenue during the sponsored events such as Insurance Forum, it is done with a goal of hosting the remainder of the events free of charge to our members, as well as providing annual scholarships to students at UNCC and ASU. $10,000 was awarded as part of our annual scholarship funds in 2023 however these checks were cashed in 2024. We also send several members to the Leadership Summit and In2Risk conferences that provide plenty of educational and networking opportunities.
The Charlotte CPCU Chapter has a long and active history of supporting local community since its founding in 1962. The Chapter is led by a Board consisting of 23 members, all of whom volunteer their time out of dedication to our industry, employers, learning institutions, and to our community at large by mentoring, teaching and serving the needs of others. Some of the outreach events the Chapter participates in annually include: park and street clean-up projects, and HopeMatch family sponsorship. In 2023, we adopted several families with children in a local Hospice group. We provided gifts to those families during the holidays.
The Chapter is charged with providing 1-2 Continuing Education CE Courses covering relevant industry topics and trends. All educational events held by the Chapter are qualified for the CE credits towards the CPCU designation. Our educational events in 2023 include our Insurance Forum and Lunch and Learns. All educational topics either surround insurance-related topics or professional development. We also send several members to the Leadership Summit and In2Risk conferences that provide plenty of educational opportunities.
