Program areas at Cheatham County Farm Bureau
Public policy programs in order to protect & promote the agriculture industry the Cheatham co Farm Bureau through its structure of volunteer leaders supports public policy efforts at the local, state & national level. This is accomplished through both legislative & regulatory monitoring communications with members & public awareness programs about farming & rural life & provide information about the agriculture industry. Volunteer board members participate in the sponsorship of meet the candidate activities & yearly policy meetings with their legislators to educate them about ag policy & how the industry is impacted by lawmakers.
Youth leadership development Cheatham County Farm Bureau supports youth agriculture organizations both financially and with volunteer hours. The organization is a sponsor of the Cheatham County 4-h camp and also donates to the 4-h organization of Cheatham County. The Cheatham County Farm Bureau also sponsors and volunteers at the Cheatham County fair for the youth livestock show. The Cheatham County Farm Bureau supports these youth events in any way they can, be it financially or with volunteer hours.
Agriculture leadership activities the Cheatham County Farm Bureau structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local agricultural, civic, & community organizations. Leaders attend district, state & national conferences to network with farmers & other agriculturalists to learn about current issues facing agriculture. A highly developed committee structure provides leadership opportunities for members through meetings, regular communications, and agricultural activities.
