Program areas at Chelan Valley Hope
Chelan Valley Hope provides a confidential intake and assessment by highly trained volunteers and staff who know the local resources and supports client households with emergency stipends to assist with rent, utilities, gas, car repairs, bus tickets, non-covered medical/dental care, clothing, and more. Our organization helps clients develop a care plan to achieve or restore solvency, and we connect clients with resources for continued recovery, growth, and long-term success. In 2023 we assisted over 4.387 clients. Since 2015 Chelan Valley Hope has actively joined with other agencies in Chelan and Douglas Counties to form a Community Housing Network with the purpose of providing coordinated access to housing and shelter for residents facing homelessness. Chelan Valley Hope administers Commerce grants through the county Grants. Every year, our clients receive case management services for homelessness or being at-risk or facing homelessness. We assisted 156 clients who received emergency shelter for an average of 4 nights and received case management support to locate improved stability with transitional or permanent housing.
Chelan Valley Hope purchased the building located at 417 S. Bradley Street from the City of Chelan. The Cornerstone building is home to local non-profit relief organizations that coordinate efforts and leverage resources to maximize assistance to struggling, under-resourced area residents. The organizations housed in the building are Chelan Valley Hope, TLC, The Food Bank, Manger Mall, and English Second Language Classes. Many donors and businesses in the community have helped Chelan Valley Hope to purchase the Cornerstone Building, giving the compassionate community organizations a permanent home.
Chelan Valley Hope is committed to managing and safekeeping donor advised funds. We have the shared mission of helping people easily access essential resources, and together we leverage our assets to multiply our reach. Funds include MANGER MALL and TLC. Manger Mall works diligently to provide donations of gifts at Christmas time every year to over 300 needy families and an average of 650-1,000 kids annually. Families are able to enjoy the dignity of giving during difficult financial times. TLC for Seniors Program offers free volunteer visits to assist seniors to live comfortably in their own home via companionship, support to achieve health and self-care goals, resource connections, and caregiver support.
