Program areas at CHEP
Education programs & conferences - we provided atotal of 9 local accredited clinical and dental programs to 412 community and veterans administration healthcare professionals. We provided or supported 13 regional and national programs and conferences. Total attendees for all events was 4,087, 2,942 in-person attendees and 1,145 virtual attendees
Transitional housing for homeless veterans - perry point, mdchep's Program in Maryland currently operates 29 beds which are supported by the veterans administration grant & per diem Program. This Program has consistently achieved results above the national averages for goals identified by the va grant and per diem Program. We maintained an average occupancy of 70% and provided 7,409 bed days of supportive care in 2023.
Transitional housing for homeless veterans - charleston, scchep's programs in sc currently operate 35 beds which are supported by the veterans administartion grant & per diem Program. We are the largest provider of transitional housing to homeless veterans in the state. We are the only Program in the state that offers services to families and female veterans and their children, as well as transgender veterans. The goal of this Program is to help each veteran achieve independent living in the community. We maintained an average occupancy of 90% and provided 11,497 bed days in 2023 to veterans in need.
Permanent housing with a veteran preference was initiated during 2021 in Washington, dc. During 2023 the Program has the capacity to provide 8 permanent housing apartments. The programs provides veteran preference housing to both male and female veterans as well as non-veterans requiring a stable housing option
