These productions included over 50 individual performances, attracting more than 3,000 attendees. Our main stage productions not only provided engaging entertainment but also fostered community involvement and supported local artists and creative professionals, enhancing cultural enrichment in our community.
Local playwrights festival:as part of our commitment to fostering local talent and enriching The arts community, The local playwrights festival provides an invaluable platform for emerging and established local writers to present their original plays to The public. With over 150 attendees, The festival not only celebrated local storytelling but also encouraged dialogue and collaboration within The arts. The program serves as a crucial step in The development of new works, with The potential for select plays to advance to full-scale Production. This initiative underscores our dedication to nurturing artistic voices and contributing to The growth of performing arts in our region.
Act 1, act tu: bilingual theatre program: in collaboration with The hispanic alliance, we were able to offer this bilingual arts development and educational program. This was an 8 week program of daily education in performance theater for high school students in southeastern Connecticut culminating in a double feature Production of "alicia" by elaine romero and "life is a dream" by pedro calderon de la barca. Between volunteers and students, there were over 40 individuals who participated in The program. The program was funded primarily by an arpa impact grant from The city of norwich.
