The journeymakers youth program and the peacemakers adult program transform select youth and parents/guardians into peace ambassadors. After intensive training, the youth and adults (who live in areas prone to violence) share practices of de-escalation, conflict transformation, and trauma-informed care with their family members, peers, and neighbors. Often youth and families in neighborhoods marked by violence are erroneously labeled as "troublemakers." These two peace ambassador programs counteract this mislabeling by empowering youth and families to be neighborhood leaders for peace.
