Program areas at CAA
Caa's legislative program provides a strong united voice advocating on behalf of members' rights under local, state and federal law. The legislative committee and board and members determine and direct caa's publicly stated position on important issues. Members determine the position and put a voice to the message. Two contract lobbyists in springfield and chicago deliver that message daily. Caa engages in coalition building to maximize impact on important issues. A coordinated legislative/pr message is delivered to the press. The caa evp monitors legislative trends - both positive and negative. Long term consistent representation is provided on recurring issues at the local, state and national level by caa and the naa/nmhc joint legislative program.
Caa provides educational seminars throughout the year. The educational programs may lead to professional designations, licensing or fair housing compliance for property owners, managers, maintenance technicians and leasing professionals.
Annual trade show for products and services related to the multifamily housing industry
The Association published a quarterly magazine which provided caa members with useful, informative,in-depth articles on multifamily housing industry issues. Community spotlights, information about upcoming education programs, event registration information, vendor profiles, and reviews of caa events were featured. The Chicagoland Apartment marketing and management excellence (camme) awards are typically held annually to celebrate multi-family housing companies and professionals that have demonstrated excellence in the previous year. The program includes an extensive judging process and an awards event.
