Chicago's Sunshine Enterprises empowers local entrepreneurs in under-resourced communities to grow their businesses and transform their communities. Its Next Level Exchange program is a 12-month, cohort-based small business development program designed to help business owners build the capacity of their enterprise. Business Accelerator Services (BAS) provide one-on-one business coaching and mentoring to develop and implement strategic action plans, supplemented with workshops, pitch competitions, access to capital, procurement, and office opportunities.

Program areas at Chicago's Sunshine Enterprises

Business accelerator services (bas) - provide one-on-one business coaching and mentoring to develop and implement strategic action plan. Supplemented with workshops, pitch competitions, access to capital, procurement and office opportunities.
The next level exchange is a 12-month, cohort-based small business development program designed to help business owners build the capacity of their enterprise. The purpose of the program is to support the growth of owner-operated businesses and create economic opportunity in underserved communities.
The community business academy (cba) - twelve-session (36-hour) course in basic business planning and management. Includes training on financials, credit, marketing, negotiations, legal and more.
Affordable housing partnership. During 2022, the organization entered into agreements with the developers of the park station lofts (park station), an unrelated third party, to serve as the nonprofit sponsor for an affordable housing development project. As part of this project, the organization received tax credits and affordable housing incentives that it then transferred to 63rd Maryland, llc, the owner of park station, in the form of long-term notes receivable. The principal amounts of the notes shall be paid upon the earlier of the maturity date of july 31, 2055, or the sale or transfer of the property to an entity which is not an affiliate of the borrower.
