ChickTech

ChickTechs youth program serves students in grades 8-12 with a focus on girls and gender diverse students. Our youth programs served 239 unique students through one-on-one mentorship and a series of in-person and virtual workshops covering a variety of technical topics and skills. ChickTech prioritizes underserved communities, with 71% of students identifying as people of color and 36% describing themselves as low-income. After participating, 86% of students said they were more motivated to pursue further tech education and 79% said they could see themselves working in a tech center. ChickTech also served 1,411 adults through a series of free virtual events, including a career fair and conference focused on professional development and creating a community of support for underrepresented genders in STEM. Through these events, 72% reported an increase in their sense of belonging in STEM and 72% increased their knowledge of how to promote diversity in tech workplaces.
