Program areas at Child Abuse Prevention Services
Programs for students: Prevention through education programs addressing child abuse, bullying, neglect, sexual harrasment, date rape and online exploitation to school age children. Workshops are presents in classrooms facilitated by professionally-trained volunteers and reach more than 35,000 children annually. Professional programs: Providing information and updates for school and other professionals on child abuse and neglect, including NYS Mandated reported training, conferences, and publishing a BI-ANNUAL Educator's newsletter, and a monthly working e-newsletter. Parent Workshops: on child abuse prevetion, bullying, relational aggression and internet safety. Public awareness: Publication of capsnews BI-ANNUAL Newsletter sponsoring community education and outreach efforts, roundtables, legislative breakfasts, and roundtables on abuse and child safety issues.
