Program areas at Child Care Aware of America
Military Child Care programs: ccaoa partners with the united states military and the department of defense to help military families find and offset the cost of quality Child Care in their communities when they are unable to access installation Child Care. Ccaoa also helps military families access short-term relief Care for families with exceptional children. Our military Child Care programs serve more than 22,000 families and 32,000 children each year through a nationwide network of more than 18,000 Child Care programs.
On-the-ground network: ccaoa partners with and supports state and local Child Care resource organizations that focus on making Child Care strong where they are because when Child Care is strong, children, families, communities, and our economy is strong. Child Care resource organizations build the supply and quality of Child Care, grow the Child Care workforce, help families and business solve their Child Care dilemmas, and deliver on-the-ground information and solutions to Child Care demand, supply and quality. Together with our on-the ground network, we turn a patchwork of resources into a system that helps families work, supports children's healthy development and learning, and keeps our economy growing.
Research, policy and public engagement: ccaoa produces research reports, analyzes policies and data, and works with the media, policymakers, and state and community-based organizations to promote understanding of the importance of a high-quality Child Care system for families to work, children learn and grow healthy, and businesses and our economy to thrive. We advance policies and mobilize action that increase public and private investment in Child Care and improve the availability of quality, affordable Child Care for each and every Child and family that needs it.
