Donor gifts received by the Foundation are reflected as revenue in the organization's financial statements. As Children's National incurs costs for research, care and education, donated funds are released into the financial statements and the expenses are reflected in this category. This represents a movement of gift funds to the Hospital in accordance with the donor's designation and the Hospital's mission to advance pediatric care.
