Program areas at Chinese Culture Connection
Little Dragon After School program for students from K to 5th grades -- This program highlights daily Chinese (Mandarin) language instruction, homework, math and English support, as well as weekly science and other rich cultural and art activities. It is designed to provide a nurturing but structured environment with highly interactive, hands-on activities for students with all learning abilities and styles to help cultivate curiosity for learning and build confidence during the off-school hours. CCC also offers Saturday classes, summer arts and culture enrichment to accommodate students who have no time during the school day, but wish to learn Mandarin and take part in other cultural instruction during the weekends and/or summer. With smaller classes, we provide a structured, nurturing and fun learning environment that helps cultivate the students love of learning and unleashes their creative potential.
Community programs: East Meets West Cultural Dialogue Series is designed to help immigrant adults to balance their cultural heritage and current American life, so they may be better parents to support their American-born children, while gaining confidence and becoming productive members of our society. Youth Leadership and Mentoring Program is part of the East meets West Cultural Dialogue Series. It aims to strengthen immigrant youths bi-cultural identity, develop their leadership skills, social responsibility, and empower their self-worth by helping others.CCC offers various Chinese cultural events and workshops to expose audiences of all backgrounds to a cross-cultural experience to enhance their cultural awareness, appreciation and enjoyment. Just to name a few: Introduction to Feng Shui; Chinese Tea Culture and Art; the Development of Chinese Characters and Calligraphy, Introduction to Chinese music, etc. (Continued on Schedule O)
Covid-19 Project: Support those across the state most impacted by the Covid-19 health crisis, focusing on essential frontine workers and vulnerable populations, including the homeless, immigrant populations, people with disabilities and those facing food insecurity.
