Program areas at CCCA
Member Services: We provide educational resources including webinars and publications for member camps, a website with resources and a directory for both members and the public. Each summer we grant funds to member camps for the purpose of covering the cost of a week at camp for underprivileged children with a special focus on kids in the foster care system. CCCA spearheads the nationwide, public-facing campaign, The Power of Camp, reaching youth leaders, parents and prospective camp staff members. CCCA also offers the Thriving Boards Program to help camp and conference center boards identify strategic next steps and benchmarks needed to create a sustainable future. The 9 to 12 month program is built on a cohort-learning model, which includes reading assignments, interactive faculty presentations and practical dialogue among colleagues.
Publications and Sales: Published 5 issues of InSite magazine and 24 issues of e-newsletter Flint & Steel with ads for employment, products and services.
Conventions & Meetings: We hosted an annual conference in Ridgecrest, NC, in December 2022 at one of our member camps to try and keep the costs low as our members continue to recover from Covid 19. We have the privilege of serving hundreds of members in person, inviting presenters to teach on the core disciplines of Christian camping and creating time for members to network and worship together.
