Christmas Is for Children, Inc. was started by two social workers in 1992 to answer letters to Santa Claus from the children of four needy families, making their Christmas wishes come true. The organization has supported over 13,000 underprivileged children dealing with poverty, AIDS, domestic violence, and substance-abusing parents since its inception. Various organizations throughout the area help the organization identify families who otherwise would not have a proper Christmas celebration.
