Church Women United / Blacksburg

In accordance with its charitable purposes, Church Women United in Blacksburg organizes voluntary collections of school children for the United Nations Children's Fund. The entire amount collected is sent to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, which is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and has no affiliation with Church Women United in Blacksburg. UNICEF is a humani tarian and developmental agency seeking to break the cycle of inequity and poverty with programs of prenatal care, clean water sanitation, health care, and education, among others, especially for the most disadvantaged children

Three “celebrations” (worship services) are combined here because they serve the religious function of the organization with prayers hymns, Biblical reflection, and an offering. The revenue listed here consists of the offerings of individuals in attendance and of local participating churches. Except for the cost of supplies ($72.07), revenue was donated, serving the charitable function organizations that are tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
