Camono verde dissemination in july 2015 the british medical journal published the results of a cluster-randomized controlled trial conducted by Ciet in mexico and nicaragua called "camino verde". The trial demonstrated that mobilization of communities to prevent the dengue and zika-bearing mosquito from breeding in water receptacles in households and public spaces could add strength to government mosquito control efforts. The donor provided additional funds for activities in both countries that would contribute to replicating and expanding this successful experience. During 2016 we focused on nicaragua where the government was planning to test the camino verde approach in section of managua city as a preliminary to implementing it throughout the country.
