Citizens Crime Commission of New York City

The Crime commision conducted research on Crime and law enforcement issues; helped educate the public about these topics, and developed strategic interventions in response to Crime problems, providing a benefit to all members of the New York City community the Commission's projects included raising awareness about the threat of cyber Crime and how the public and the business community can protect themselves; developing interventions against gun violence and illegal weapons trafficking ; creating partnerships to plan and implement efforts to reduce juvenile Crime; convening experts to examine effective methods to combat terrorism and explore the challenges encountered, developing and supporting innovative strategies that prevent and fight Crime; and offering independent nonpartisan commentary on criminal justice issues and other resources to the media.
