Program areas at Citizens For Animal Protection
Shelter and Care Programs provide housing for animals needing care. The shelter includes animal drop-off, daily care, medical assessment and rehabilitation, and vetted adoptions. In FY23, the shelter took in 4,782 homeless pets and adopted 3,959 pets, with a live release rate of 94% for the year.
The Pet Ownership Program delivers humane outreach and educational programs on the proper care of animals and the plight of animal overpopulation in Houston. Projects included are to enhance pet ownership, such as kids camp, kids club, shelter tours, and pet supplies sales, etc. During the FY23 year, our pet supply shop brought in significant donations to supply the shop and sell.
