Description
Civic Action Project promotes better policymaking and the diversity of policymakers. It trains the next generation of civic leaders and builds bridges for new strategic, public-private partnerships for innovative policies. CAP Collaborative offers a highly interactive cross-training educational opportunity for leaders to acquire new insights that will advance the public interest. CAP Strategic Initiatives, in collaboration with municipal agencies and other thought leaders, is adopting the Commonwealth Development Compact to integrate development across Massachusetts.

Program areas at Civic Action Project

Cap collaborative: the cap collaborative brings together senior-level corporate and government leaders to foster cross-sector collaboration on public policy. Twice a year, the cap collaborative brings 20 public and private sector leaders together for 8 consecutive weeks to produce better working relationships between these leadership groups and promote the development of good public policy.
Cap strategic initiatives: cap strategic initiatives organizes convenings to catalyze change through public-private cooperation. In 2023, the focus of strategic initiatives was increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the private real estate sector.
Cap fellows: each summer the cap fellows program trains graduate students in real-world public policy making strategies. Fellows are supported to complete internships where they gain practical experience in policy making and participate in weekly roundtables learning from one another as well as from public and private sector practitioners.
New voices: new voices empowers emerging Civic leaders to contribute to a more inclusive Civic discourse in Massachusetts. Participants are trained to write compelling and effective op-eds for publication in commonwealth beacon.
