Civic transformationour civic transformation programming in 2023 focused on research related to city meetings and helping gather input for the expansion of our city's urban service boundary.
Social cohesion: bridging & the public realmour social cohesion work in 2023 focused on in-person relationship building events and projects targeting the public realm. We hosted 119 events and engaged 4,800 residents in our relationship building work across 65 locations. We started a new partnership at the university of Kentucky in their cornerstone space focused on this work. In addition to this, a substantial part of our work focused on the public realm. We hosted dozens of events to get public feedback for the public realm, engaging close to 3,000 residents.
Civic educationour 2023 civic education work focused on helping residents of all ages understand local government and providing free local news. Through our k-12 program, 1,200 high school students participated in our civic workshops, 96 community organizations connected with fcps students through our expos, and we reached 3,700 total students. Through our adult programming, we helped over 1,800 residents learn about local government through 53 workshops. On our news side, we published 48 newsletters covering hundreds of city meetings.
