Program areas at Clarehouse
Clarehouse provides a loving home, quality end-of-life care and access to hospice services to people in need. Filling a critical gap in the continuum of care, we respond to unmet care needs in the final days and weeks of life. This is a service not provided by hospice, nor covered by Medicare or medical insurance. The alternative Clarehouse provides enables family caregivers to maintain employment while not exhausting themselves or their financial resources, yet ensuring quality care for their loved one. We care for about 350 guests in our home annually. This includes the provision of our home, 24 hour personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, companionship and presence, emotional and spiritual support, access to hospice providers, safe, home-like environment, privacy and space, and a shared knowledge and comfort level with the dying process.
Through our education activities, we work locally, regionally, and nationally to share our philosophy and standard of care, and our unique model. Our vision for education offers people across the nation the expectation of dying well - in comfort, with dignity, supported by quality compassionate care provided by healthcare professionals who are well-versed in the expert end-of-life care exemplified by Clarehouse, and access to a Social Hospice home in every community willing and able to support one. Educational services provided include Sharing our Model, Clinical Education for Healthcare Providers and Community Outreach.
