Program areas at Classically Connected
Ficec:the fine instrument cultural and education center (ficec) is dedicated to the conservation, preservation, exhibition, and use of the world's finest stringed instruments in general use through programs, such as:-global registry of fine stringed instruments.-instrument lending initiatives to connect deserving artists with quality instruments by past and living luthiers to augment their craft.-branding, promotion and publicity will be integrated with artists.
Instrument lending program: we connect antique and contemporary instruments with musicians as well as performance venues and museums. During 2022, cci loaned 15 fine instruments and bows to artists such as giuseppe gibboni, winner of the 2022 paganini competition, and prestigious museums such as museo del violino in cremona, italy. Instruments we have loaned include the 1734 antonio stradivari violin, 1757 j.b. guadagnini violin, francois xavier tourte violin bow, and etienne pajeot violin bow.
Outreach:cci artists have given performances in non-traditional ways, including traveling to senior residences to perform and using teleconference devices or the phone to perform remotely. Cci musical phone pal was the primary means for outreach during the 2020 pandemic lockdown. It brings live interacive performances to nursing homes and senior residences to ensure that even those in isolation can enjoy the performing arts. Cci also continued its cci distanced but Connected program to enable cci artists to perform together regardless of their locations. Created during the 2020 pandemic quarantine, cci dbc is a series of recorded performances that are edited together to create a single group performance.
Artists support:cci supports cci artists' activities by sharing their news in an artist newsletter and on our social media accounts; offering opportunities for them to collaborate on live or recorded project, and offering instruments loans grants, and scholarships.
Arts partnerships: we collaborate with arts and cultural organizations - public and private - around the world to provide opportunities for aspiring and professional musicians to perform in international concerts, music festivals, educational and community outreach programs, instrument loans, and scholarships.
