Program areas at Code Enforcement Officer Safety Foundation
The organization provides training courses for Code Enforcement Officers, Building Inspectors, Fire Inspectors, Animal Control, CSO's, Health Inspectors, and Housing Inspectors that cover tactical skills, strategies, and other foundational knowledge to enhance their safety and survival. In 2023, the organization granted 22 scholarships to code enforcement officers who were selected by professional associations based on their inability to afford the training and/or their expressed interest in participating. These scholarships provided the recipients with free access to the organization's online 15-hour officer safety training program, which is valued at $250 per person.
Through the organization's Request a Vest program, the organization donated 23 body armor vests in 2023 to code officials working in government to protect them in their line of duty.
In addition to providing training courses, the organization actively participates in national conferences throughout the year to raise awareness about the importance of officer safety and to provide training to conference attendees. The conferences allow the organization to reach a wider audience of professionals in the field, sharing best practices and promoting the adoption of safety strategies and tactical skills. The organization's presence at these conferences also allows for networking opportunities and the exchange of ideas with other experts in the field, further enhancing the quality and impact of the training programs offered.
