Provide low-cost or free legal immigration services to individuals and families in need for such services. The Organization provided legal services to 1,047 clients in 2022 and opened 184 new cases.
The Organization serves as a fiscal sponsor to the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN). WAISN protects and advances the power of immigrant and refugee communities through a multiracial, multilingual, and multi-faith coalition of over 100 organizations. WAISN's organizing strategy educates and mobilizes statewide to uphold and defend the rights and dignity of immigrants and refugees while centering the voice of impacted communities. The hotline, which serves to connect community members with trusted information and resources, averages 900 calls per month including text messages in five languages. WAISN also successfully distributed 65 million dollars in COVID-19 relief assistance through the Washington Immigrant Relief Fund. The Organization's legal services charge a 10% administrative fee on all funds raised to cover administrative expenses.
The Organization serves as a fiscal sponsor to the Fair Fight Bond Fund. A program that provides bond money to low-income individuals detained at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington. The program started in November 2018 and bonded out 33 individuals in 2022.
The Organization runs several community oriented programs for immigrant families in Washington including emergent financial assistance programs, food, clothing, and diaper pantry as well as peer-facilitated support group services. In 2022, the Organization distribution $71,201 in emergency financial aid. The Organization also put on 3 in-person legal clinics focused on helping community members fill out pro se asylum and DACA applications.
