Colorado Coroners

The 2023 Coroners Conference was held June 7-9, 2023, at the Marriott Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There were 105 in-person attendees and 17 online attendees. Topics included Oberholzer Schnee Case, Lobbyists Introduction, Asphyxia by Exclusion of Air, Organ Recovery, CDPHE CoVDRS and SUDORDS Systems, Pediatric Deaths, Child Fatality Review Team, Donation Opportunities, Deceased Persons Identification Services, NamUs Cases, Drug Overdose Deaths, Sight Worldwide, Fentanyl Deaths, Working With Emergency Management, Scene Cases, and Promoting Resiliency. Four scholarships were awarded for full conference costs and costs of rooms.

The 2023 Coroners Training was held October 4-6, 2023, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Greeley, Colorado. There were 83 in-person attendees and 23 online attendees. Topics included Forensic Photography, DNA, Electrocution Death, Process for Death Scene Investigations, Drug Related Deaths, Self Care, Vital Records, Opioids, Case Studies, Coroner Protocols, RMLEB, Introduction to OSHA, and Decomposition at High Altitude. One scholarship was awarded for full conference costs and costs of rooms.
