Program areas at Colorado Food Cluster

The organization designed and began the initial phases of implementation for the Food utility/universal basic Food program. Designed research and evaluation proposal, developed core technology infrastructure for housing and securing data (data commons) and identified and secured partnerships for recruitment of participants.
In 2023 our summer Food service program launched in five new rural counties in Colorado. We provided 41,620 free meals and meal delivery to 575 school aged children during the summer months which students were not in school. The program served 41,620 meals from june through august. In january, cfc was recognized by a national entity as a best practice for our implementation of non-congregate usda meal programs.
The child adult care Food programs (cacfp) are administered by the Colorado department of health and environment. There are three program types, cacfp-centers, cacfp-home care providers, and cacfp at-risk afterschool programs. The cacfp is a usda federal entitlement program that supplements meal costs for child care service providers. Currently, cfc has a contract with cdphe as a sponsor of cacfp-centers. We are in the process with the state to also be a sponsor of cacfp-home care providers. They are both paid to cfc by cdphe so we have to keep our programmed reimbursements codes seperate for the two cacfp programs.
