Program areas at Transformative Justice Proj of Colo

Direct representation Center: cjdc seeks to ensure the 6th amendment rights of children accused of crimes through direct representation of youth in select Juvenile court proceedings. Cjdc's believe in youth program represents youth and young adults in both expungement and deregistration cases. The program pairs clients with individual attorneys who handle all aspects of the case. Cjdc also provides free advice and legal representation on school matters in the denver metro area.
Juvenile Defender Center: cjdc believes all children and youth should experience adolescence free from over-criminalization in a just society that promotes their well-being and provides second chances. Cjdc's staff, board, and membership community help to protect the rights and improve the treatment of children and youth in the Juvenile Justice system through public advocacy, community organizing, nonpartisan research, and policy development.
Juvenile resource Center: cjdc strives to elevate the practice of Juvenile defense and advocacy by holding up Juvenile defense as a skilled specialty practice, presenting continuing legal education seminars, developing resources and materials for Juvenile defenders and advocates, and by supporting indigent defense through ongoing litigation support and assistance. Cjdc also jointly publishes the Colorado Juvenile defense manual, a guide for the practitioner defending a Juvenile client, both in delinquency and criminal court.
