Program areas at COBS
2022 was an investment and re-building year for Colorado Outward Bound School as cobs continued to recover from the covid-19 pandemic. Cobs made significant investments in staff recruiting and retention as well as deferred facilities maintenance. Covid presented less of a safety risk, and cobs largely returned to traditional programming with strong student outcomes, including both wilderness expeditions and re-building its School and professional course lines. In 2022, cobs served 985 students on 70 separate courses-representing 70% student growth over 2021-for a total of 11,822 student program days. These courses took place in Colorado and Utah and consisted of mountaineering, mountain and canyon backpacking, rock climbing, canoeing, and base camp initiatives.
