Program areas at CUP

Columbia University Press is an organization formed to promote the study of various subjects including economics, history, and philosophy, and to encourage the publication of original research works. All publications are reviewed by cup's publications committee which is comprised of leading scholars with Columbia University and other prestigious institutions. Many cup publications do not generate a return of the initial investment. In addition, these works continue to be made available to serve the scholarly need long beyond the period of profitability.
