Program areas at Combatting Homelessness and Dependency

In 2023, case management services were provided to assist clients (5 individuals and 2 families) with finding landlords willing to work with their poor credit history and place them into affordable housing. Direct financial assistance was provided as application fees/security deposits, and supplementing rent payments for clients. One family at risk for Homelessness received assistance with mortgage payments and medical expenses. Case manager also helped clients to attain donated basic household items and furniture. Additionally, payments were made for tuition & fees, budget counseling sessions, dmv fees, and transportation - all with the goal of stable employment at a living wage for clients to sustain independent living. Case manager will continue to accept additional participants into the program in the next year. Her expected capacity is to work with up to 10 clients at one time.
In 2023, a duplex property was purchased to provide additional options for temporary housing until clients can become independent. Clients pay a rental fee not to exceed 30% of the particpant's income, which is typically far below market rent rates.
