Program areas at Common Good City Farm
Common Good City Farm is a place where community members can source fresh food, see sustainable urban agriculture in action, and gain exposure to concepts and skills to lead healthy lives. Common Good City Farm actively engages all members of our diverse community and creates opportunities for connection, contributing to the vibrancy and sense of place in our community. In 2022, to create a vibrant community, Common Good City Farm held 10 community events with a total attendance of over 1,000 and over 1,600 total visitors to the farm. These events are where members can gather on the farm over food and build connections with others. To create an informed community the organization held 25 adult Seed-to-Table workshops for 250 adults and graduated 30 adults in the City Farmer Certificate Program. This pilot Certificate Program in Regenerative Agriculture gave people hands-on experience in regenerative and climate-responsive agriculture. The organization also facilitated 37 field trips serving over 800 students, and provided over 75 LEAF classes for over 100 youth. To create a well-nourished community the organization provided over 30 weekly Pay-What-You Can Farm stands, sold 14,573 pounds of produce at the Farm Market, grew over 4,000 pounds/47,000 servings of produce on -site, and served over 300 families through Farm Stand with over $12,000 distributed in discounted and free produce.
