Nurturing Communities: at Communities for Better Health, we believe that the best way to carry out our values is to invest in community residents, leaders, and organizations to advance Health equity in their community. Through our nurturing Communities initiative, we take a holistic approach by meeting community residents, leaders and organizations where they are and empower them to advance Health equity in their Communities through evaluating capacities, equipping through community Health education and project planning, and engaging through implementing project plans and creating system-level change.
Nourishing Communities: through our nourishing Communities initiative, we work alongside community residents and leaders to develop connections, systems and infrastructure to sustainably advance community Health equity. To date, our programming includes community gardening, nourish produce boxes, and partnering with cando houston to implement the healthy corner stores initiative.
