Program areas at Community Cancer Fund

Providence, Washington state university, Community Cancer Fund, premera, and children's miracle network hospitals announced a partnership to establish eastern Washington's first pediatric medical residency. Community Cancer Fund has pledged $5,000,000 over 10 years with an initial installment of $500,000 to launch the program.the program will not only improve the depth and breadth of overall children's healthcare in spokane, but also foster aspiring physicians from the wsu elson s. floyd college of medicine and other medical schools to stay in spokane. The program is a three-year residency. Six residents will be admitted each year for a total of 18 residents once the first three cohorts are filled. Recruitment for the inaugural class will begin later this year, with the first residents expected to begin their training in summer 2024. Training will occur primarily at providence sacred heart children's hospital with several outpatient experiences at pediatric clinics in the Community.
One of the first initiatives of ccf was to establish a $3 million endowment Fund to support a local summer camp for children affected by Cancer. One such camp in the region is camp goodtimes at ymca camp reed. Camp good times is medically supported by pediatric and oncology health care professionals and is offered free of charge for children diagnosed with Cancer.
Programs included: davenport lodging program -complimentary lodging used by patients of Cancer care northwest, sacred heart children's hospital, and multicare health system during treatments. Livestrong at the ymca Cancer survivor wellness class. Cancer care northwest restricted donation for disparities in lung Cancer tumor sequencing & clinical trial enrollment. Kootenai health restricted donation for mammogram initiative. Multicare foundation restricted donation for helping hands campaign. Multicare health systems biospecimen repository collaboration. Providence health care andrew rypien initiative for sacred heart childrens hospital school. Swagar foundation donation for Montana Cancer patient support.
