In 2022, CEP team members worked tirelessly to connect volunteers to children who need additional academic support and encouragement. Our programs helped families navigate through challenging systems while nurturing the individual needs of each student. CEP is proud to continue meeting students where they are, no matter where they may be (in an encampment, a shelter, or a public library), to support their academic aspirations and performance. CEP provided 1) 250 individualized one-on-one and group tutoring, 2) provided 100 K-5 students with intensive literacy support, 3) offered over 300 enrichment opportunities, 4) supported 45 high school students with graduation coaching and mentoring for students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, 5) distributed over 2500 books, and 6) 250 plus of backpacks filled with school supplies.
