Program areas at Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville
The Community Foundation administers donor advised funds, designated funds, field of interest funds, agency funds, and scholarship funds.
The Womens Philanthropy Society awarded grants in the amount of $50,000 each to Heart of the Valley YMCA and Huntsville Housing Authority as well as a grant in the amount of $200 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama. In addition, the Womens Endowment had a balance at the end of 2023 of $351,211.
The Compass Society awarded a grant of $50,000 each to Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley and HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology as well as a grant in the amount of $25,000 to the Scottsboro Multicultural Foundation dba The Scottsboro Boys Museum. In addition, the Compass Endowment had a balance at the end of 2023 of $1,129,041.
The Racial Equity Fund selected seven nonprofits to receive $117,500 in grants to help close equity gaps based on race. In addition, the Racial Equity Endowment had a balance at the end of 2023 of $290,978.
