Community Happens Here

Community Happens Here facilitates human connection by creating spaces of conversation, learning, empathy and hospitality both in our space and around our city. Our flagship program, Sidewalk Hospitality, offers neighbors a free and friendly space to meet one another while they learn new skills or share unique experiences. Sidewalk Hospitality gatherings take place at our facility each week. We also bring people together through dynamic partnerships with other community-focused organizations. For example, we work with the Cincinnati Public Library to host the Human Library - an empathy-building initiative that allows individuals to engage in one-on-one conversations with people representing various stigmatized statuses and indentities. We also provided programming support to neighborhood celebrations like Ridge Day, Play in the Park, and PRMS Fall Festival.

We provide skills-based entrepreneurship programming to elementary and high school students. Our Coffee Cup Cafe provides an in-school, food served-based learning lab to students at Pleasant Ridge Montessori School a Title 1 elementary. This program introduces participants to basic business concepts and provides them with practical opportunities to grow their communication and collaboration skills. Our YoungPreneurs Leadership Lab gives middle and high school students out-of-school experiences designed to build confidence, develop professional skills and build their financial literacy.
