Lovelands Community Kitchen has continued to evolve its meal services and distribution to meet the changing needs of its community and its increased food insecurity. In 2023, guests had the option of enjoying a dine-in model where volunteers serve meals to our guests in the inside dining area or a carry-out from a donor-funded food service trailer that allows guests to take their meals to go. The Kitchen also transitioned its breakfast meals due to guest feedback. In October 2023, breakfast meals shifted to its other agency service as we began distribution through the local day shelter. The Kitchen continues to serve hot dinners, sustainable food bags with additional protein items as requested to support people who cannot come to the Kitchen on a daily basis. In addition, the Kitchen provides food to other agencies serving people who are food insecure for distribution. In 2023, the Kitchen served 6,000 breakfasts; 48,159 dinners; 5,263 other agencies; and 80,395 food bags/protein.
